Serving Our Neighbors with the Love of Christ
Branch's Baptist Church is committed to serving children, families, military personnel, and neighbors throughout our community through compassionate outreach, practical assistance, and meaningful opportunities for fellowship.
Community Food Pantry
Branch's members regularly volunteer with a food pantry program offered through our neighboring church, Belmont United Methodist. Supported by Feed More of Virginia, this ministry takes place each Friday morning at 8:30 a.m., rain or shine.
Volunteers meet at the red garage and walk over to Belmont as a group to pray with the other volunteers before the pantry opens at 8:30 a.m.
Those who are physically unable to participate can help by donating plastic grocery bags for participant use, as well as empty Styrofoam and cardboard cartons used to repackage eggs purchased in bulk.
Donated items may be placed in the designated containers on the Missions Table near the Sanctuary.
Neighborhood Picnics & Special Activities
Branch's Outreach Committee periodically plans picnics and other outreach events for our church family, friends, and neighbors.
Attendees enjoy great food and wonderful fellowship while relaxing and connecting with one another in a fun, family-friendly atmosphere.
Youth Outreach
The Children's Ministry hosts a variety of events throughout the year to share God's love with the youngest members of our community.
These programs include annual Children's Festivals and Vacation Bible School, where the Good News is shared through food, games, and Bible stories. Our prayer is that the truth shared with all participants will fall on fertile soil.
Branch's also hosts a school-supplies drive for Southwood Apartments and Falling Creek Elementary School to help ensure that young students have the tools they need to receive an excellent education.
Stockings for Soldiers
Branch's partners with the staff of Morrissett Funeral Home each year to fill Christmas stockings for members of our military.
This ministry lets service members know that we support them and appreciate their sacrifices. Food and personal-care items help us send them a small taste of home during the Christmas season.
Branch's Community Thanksgiving
Each Thanksgiving, volunteers from throughout the community gather at Branch's Baptist Church to prepare, serve, and deliver meals to neighbors across South Richmond.
